Northampton have confirmed the signing of striker Kevin van Veen from Scunthorpe for an undisclosed fee.

The Dutchman, who came through the youth system at PSV Eindhoven, has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Northampton.

Sky Sports News reported in January last year that Scunthorpe rejected a £4m offer from a Chinese Super League club for Van Veen.

The 26-year-old has been in good form in League One recently, scoring five goals in his last nine games.

Van Veen scored a total of 23 goals in 116 appearances at Glanford Park after joining in January 2015.

Northampton manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said: "Kevin is a quality striker at this level who offers a goal threat.
