In depth

Verdict

An uninspiring affair with plenty of characters on view and we take a speculative punt about Obe Bold although Misty Princess and Wilford Maverick have to be considered. On BHB figures, Obe Bold has an uphill task but she is at least consistent, and on her second to Henry Tun at selling grade (she was 5lb wrong at the weights), she has to be given some respect in what is a moderate contest. Misty Princess is a long standing maiden. She is running consistently at the moment and could hold on for a place. Wilford Maverick continues to drop in trip. He won over seven furlongs at Southwell so a drop to five furlongs really is a leap in the dark. Auentram ran at listed level in Germany but has cut no ice since joining current connections. Compton Earl and Pass Go are from a yard that landed a real touch at the track in February and are watched in the market. Grand View and Headland are grand campaigners from yesteryear and may just need this race on returns from absence. Smirfys Party is yet to win on the surface but has demonstrated some ability on turf. An uninspiring medium for punting and Obe Bold is nominated as a token selection.
