Adam Byrne is set to make his Ireland debut in Saturday's Test at the Aviva against Argentina, live on Sky Sports Action from 5:15pm.

His Leinster team-mate James Ryan makes his first Test start against the Pumas with the pair replacing Andrew Conway and Devin Toner, the only two to play against South Africa and Fiji, in the starting XI.

Bundee Aki and Chris Farrell will earn their second caps for Ireland as Robbie Henshaw's hamstring injury means that he drops out of the squad.

Head coach Joe Schmidt dismissed the notion of a grudge match - the Test in Dublin will be the first time Ireland will have played against the Pumas since the 20-43 defeat at Cardiff in the 2015 World Cup quarter-finals.

The Kiwi said: "Not at all. If we're looking two years backwards, how do we look forwards?

"We're really looking forward to the game on the weekend and looking forward to what we learn from it so we can keep progressing.

"I think there's a danger of looking too far back; there are not too many guys from that match who are involved, maybe half a dozen in the starting group.

"For us, it's about getting a bit of cohesion, there are a few new combinations and we'll be focused on ourselves than on the Argentinians."

Schmidt has gone back to the majority of the team that had their record-breaking victory over South Africa two weeks ago, after naming an experimental team against Fiji.

Leinster duo Cian Healey and Tadgh Furlong will line up either side of Rory Best, with the hooker once again captaining the side in Dublin.

Jonathan Sexton and Munster's Conor Murray resume their partnership in the half-backs, while Ryan is joined in the second row by Ulster's Iain Henderson.

The back-row combination that played against the Springboks of Peter O'Mahony, Sean O'Brien and CJ Stander return after being rotated for the Fiji Test, with Rhys Ruddock, Jordi Murphy and Jack Conan dropping to the bench.
