Saracens joined Leicester in the semi-finals of the Anglo-Welsh Cup after defeating the Tigers 29-20 in a tightly-fought encounter at Allianz Park.

The 2015 winners raced into a 19-3 lead inside half an hour but had to withstand a strong fightback from the Tigers, who were looking for a home tie in the last four.

Instead, that honour goes to Saracens and these two sides will meet again at the same venue for a place in the final in just over a month's time.

Richard Barrington, Nathan Earle and Nick Tompkins all dotted down for Sarries inside the opening 23 minutes, with Luke Hamilton and George McGuigan scoring either side of half-time for Leicester.

Fly-half Tom Whiteley secured victory with a last-minute try, which took his tally to 12 points.

Exeter are also through to the last-four thanks to a comfortable 35-7 win over Bristol at Ashton Gate.

The Chiefs' bonus-point victory after scoring five tries was enough for them to top Pool Two, and their 15-point haul from four games was sufficient to secure a home semi-final at Sandy Park.

The Aviva Premiership high-flyers were nowhere near their best in an error-ridden performance and it was two yellow cards for Bristol within a minute of each other towards the end of the first half that largely sealed the hosts' fate.

Exeter's tries came from Shaun Malton, Max Bodilly and Henry Slade. There were also two penalty try awards for the visitors, with Joe Simmonds slotting over all five conversions.

Bristol's sole response was a late try from Jamal Ford-Robinson with Callum Sheedy adding the extras.

Ospreys produced a bonus-point 31-22 win over Wasps at the Ricoh Arena but Exeter's win at Bristol saw them fall short of the Anglo-Welsh Cup semi-finals.

Brendan Macken's first-half double was cancelled out by tries from Jay Baker and Dan Baker as the Ospreys led 14-12 at the interval.

Centre Guy Armitage charged over for a try with 12 minutes remaining to put Wasps five points in front but Ospreys mustered an immediate response, replacement Kieron Fonotia touching down.

The Ospreys then turned over a home lineout to claim a bonus point try through Hanno Dirksen in the dying seconds.
