Nick Tompkins has signed a new three-year deal with Saracens.

Tompkins, 21, has made 35 appearances for the club since his debut as a 17-year-old in 2012 and was part of the victorious England Saxons tour of South Africa earlier this summer.

The promising centre joins team-mate Michael Rhodes in extending his stay at the Aviva Premiership and Champions Cup winners after he signed a new deal earlier this week.

"Nick has a very bright future in the game and we're very happy that he has committed his future to the club," said Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall.

"He has continued to progress over the last few seasons and we believe there's still a lot more to come from him. He is a bright, talented, English player with a lot of potential.

"It's very important for us as a club to see academy players make the transition from age-group rugby to the wider squad and Nick has proven that he can make that step up.

"We now have a number of players in our squad who have come through our academy system, which is very important to health of the club as a whole. It was great to see him perform so well this summer in South Africa with the Saxons and we're looking forward to seeing him develop further at Allianz Park."

On his new deal, Tompkins said: "I'm still a young player and I'm at the perfect place to develop. I'm really happy at Saracens so I am glad to commit my future here."
