South African all-rounder David Wiese has joined Sussex as a Kolpak player on a three-year contract.
The 31-year-old had two spells with the county last season and will return on a permanent basis after effectively calling time on his international career.
Wiese, who has been capped at T20 and one-day international level, was due to join up for this month's T20 series against Sri Lanke but instead joins the likes of Kyle Abbott and Rilee Rossouw in choosing English domestic cricket ahead of further South Africa honours.
He said: "I am very excited to be joining Sussex on a long-term deal. I thoroughly enjoyed my stint with the club last year and it made my decision so much easier when offered to return.
"Sussex is an extremely ambitious club and I look forward to being part of their future.
"I would like to thank Cricket South Africa for giving me the opportunity of fulfilling my lifelong dream of representing my country in the sport I love."
