Lewis Hamilton has urged his Ferrari team to "apply the pressure" to title rival Kimi Antonelli as he seeks to chase down the Mercedes driver in the championship battle.
The 2026 Formula 1 season resumes at the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend following the sport's summer break, with Antonelli leading Hamilton by 50 points at the top of the standings.
There is a huge gap in experience between the pair, with the 41-year-old Hamilton chasing a record eighth drivers' title, while Antonelli, who turns 20 two days after Sunday's race in Zandvoort, is seeking a maiden championship in just his second F1 campaign.

Hamilton said: "There are pros and cons to it. He's obviously very fast. He's doing an amazing job.
"When you are 19 you don't really have much else going on in your life really, so you don't have many other pressures. I remember when I was that age and things are relatively easier in life, I would say.
"Nonetheless, it's not saying he hasn't still got a hard job ahead of him, but he's been doing great.
"I'm not really looking at any weaknesses because I don't think he has shown any this season. I think we've got to just work hard to just continue to apply the pressure."
Mercedes generally had a faster car than Ferrari over the opening 11 rounds of the season, but Hamilton is hoping more upgrades from the Italian team, some of which will be available in Zandvoort, can aid his cause.
"Hopefully we are going to continue to progress in development," Hamilton said.
"The team are working really hard. We've got our first little step this weekend which I'm really grateful for because they are under a huge amount of pressure to continue to bring parts, as every team is.
"But we are going in the right direction with the car. Obviously, Mercedes are still the leaders. McLaren are now up in there and obviously Red Bull are now super quick so there are four teams that are all very close.
"But we just focus on doing our job the best we can. I think we can do a better job in the second half, so that's our goal."
Hamilton 'massively driven' to claim first Dutch GP win
Zandvoort is one of just four circuits on F1's 2026 calendar that Hamilton hasn't previously won at.
The Brit is yet to top the podium in Miami and Las Vegas, which were added to the schedule in 2022 and 2023, respectively, while Madrid is hosting F1 for the first time in September.
Hamilton qualified and finished second when the Dutch Grand Prix returned to F1's schedule in 2021, but has failed to make the podium again since.
With Zandvoort dropping off the calendar next year, and there seeming to be little prospect of it returning any time soon, Hamilton says he is highly motivated to claim victory.
He said: "I've won at pretty much all the other tracks, but I don't think I've won here before, so I definitely want to change that. I'm massively driven.
"It's just such an incredible circuit, great crowd here, very special particularly for Max as he comes here and has the incredible support through the weekend. They really create the atmosphere.
"It's a track I've yet to really truly conquer in Formula 1, so it's definitely something I want to try to do this weekend."
Antonelli: One of my opponents is also myself
Antonelli exceeded all expectations to build a significant lead over the first half of the season, which could have been significantly bigger if it weren't for some major misfortune.
The Italian retired from second place with an engine failure when Hamilton won in Barcelona, and appeared to be on course for victory at Silverstone when a wheel-guard failure dropped him out of the points.
Antonelli's speed has been so consistent that the chasing pack's biggest hope for the remaining 12 rounds would appear to be errors creeping into his driving.
Antonelli said: "It's going to be a very intense second half of the season but I'm ready. I'm looking forward to the challenge and hopefully it's going to be a great one."
"I know the expectations are very high but, on my side, I just need to keep delivering the results, keep doing my job the best way I can without worrying about [the] championship or anything like that.
"I don't want to go in the car driving thinking about [the] championship or being afraid to do mistakes or stuff like that. Of course, there will be times where I might think more before doing something but, other than that, I just want to enjoy it as much as possible and be free all the way. Then we'll see where we end up at the end of the year.
"We could say one of my opponents is also myself. That's why it's really important to keep having a solid mind, a solid mindset. Always have the focus on the right things and always go in the car with the right mindset, a good level of intensity and then keep working with the people that I trust in case I need them. Also try to make the best use of it.
"Of course, it's going to be a very intense second half with a lot of triple headers, a lot of travelling, going in a lot different places, but I'm really excited and really looking forward to it. I am ready to embrace the challenge and hopefully it's going to be a great second half."
