Eddie Hearn says a fight between Kell Brook and Amir Khan "needs to happen" and the promoter wants to see it later on in 2018.
Promoter Hearn, speaking after the victory, wants his super-welterweight charge to quickly return to action in June as a blockbuster clash with Amir Khan edges one step closer.
"Everyone wants to see a fight between Kell Brook and Amir Khan, we've wanted it for three or four years.
"Brook has passed the test and now Amir Khan has to pass his test in Liverpool on April 21, live on Sky Sports. Kell will be ringside for it.
"It is a fight that everyone wants to happen later in 2018, we need to see it. Let's see Khan win first though.
"Kell wants to fight in June next, let's get busy and make up for lost time."
Hearn was delighted with how Brook performed in his debut at 154lbs, admitting that "everything was on the line" for the Sheffield star.
"I want to thank the people of Sheffield for supporting Brook. He was in a terrible place and his people have brought him back.
"He's got the heart of a lion and is back to try and dominate the super-welterweight division.
"That was a great performance. He was so nervous backstage, everything was on the line tonight and he showed what we have always believed, he is a world class fighter.
"At 154lbs he is a different animal, we've put them all on notice. I believe he will be a two-weight world champion in 2018."
