Josh Kelly says his clash with unbeaten Polish welterweight Przemyslaw Runowski is make or break as he gets his 2019 off the ground

Josh Kelly is ready for a crucial clash with Przemyslaw Runowski when he puts his WBA international welterweight title on the line this weekend.

Kelly faces Runowski on Saturday's bumper bill at The O2, which also features Derek Chisora, Dave Allen, Joe Cordina and Connor Benn.

The Sunderland star will be aiming to extend his run of eight straight victories and ensure he features on the undercard of Anthony Joshua's American debut at Madison Square Garden in New York on June 1.

Runowski has won all 17 of his fights as a professional but former Team GB fighter Kelly says he feels no added pressure by the Pole's undefeated record.

"Not at all," said Kelly. "Every fight is a make or break fight so it doesn't matter if he had lost one or lost two. Obviously it recognises that he's a good fighter but it doesn't matter to me.

"He's quite a strong, basic fit guy. He does some unorthodox stuff but once I get the rhythm, once I start dancing I should be alright.

"Saturday will be a night to enjoy, it's going to look good."
