Mitchell joined Sky Sports News HQ to discuss his fight

Jamie says: He’s definitely capable and good enough to win a world title on his night against the right opponent. From what I’m told, he should win. Knowing Kevin, and he knows it’s his last chance, he’ll do his homework and do enough to win.

This would have been his world title shot but he messed up on the scales - he knows he’s got no-one else to blame except himself for that - but he gets his opportunity again if he can pull off a good performance on Saturday. Fingers crossed, he grabs it with both hands.

It takes a unique sort of person to be a boxer. Listen, why would anyone choose to go to work every day and get punched in the face? It’s not a normal way of thinking. It takes an extraordinary person to be a boxer - it’s the bravery, the commitment, the dedication. Not just for training every day, but to be focused enough to blank out everything surrounding a fight and just get on with it.

It builds mental strength and fortitude if you go into a fight with an unsettled lifestyle, with things not going to plan outside the ring, but still performing shows your strength.

When your life calms down, you retain that mental strength and you're a much better fighter. You can concentrate on your training more, and the knock-on effect is that you benefit on the night of your performance.

Being away from the limelight makes you hungrier. The attention may die down which could refresh him because you can get a little bit stale.
Jamie Moore on Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua pulled out of the headline fight with a back injury but will he benefit from some time off?

Jamie says: It could help him to be out of the spotlight for a while. Being away from the limelight makes you hungrier. The attention may die down which could refresh him because you can get a little bit stale. Things can get repetitive so for him to go away and become rejuvenated can help.

He’s been in the gym non-stop and you don’t want to move him too fast. It's a good thing that he’ll have time off because I hate to see him over-kill it in the gym and then lose to someone who he should beat.

But you'll be there on Saturday, cornering Ricky Boylan. What should we expect from him?

Jamie says: If you haven't seen Ricky before, you should expect an exciting fight. Tommy Martin, his opponent, also has an exciting style. We've been getting Ricky big and strong for this fight, I've finally got him training like a Manchester fighter - punching to the body, lots of head movement and relaxed shoulders.

My style of training suits Ricky, we work well together. I only had him for two weeks before his last fight with Tyler Goodjohn, which didn't go his way. I believe that what you do in the gym becomes second nature when it's time to box so that's what we're doing. I couldn't be happier with how this preparation has gone.

The weekly Money v Manny question... Pacquaio has said the fight is 80 percent agreed but was he in London to arrange an Amir Khan scrap?

Jamie says: That's just a way of putting pressure on Floyd Mayweather to sign. But why not do that? It might back-fire on Pacquiao because Mayweather doesn’t like being told what to do. Pacquiao isn’t hiding the fact that he’s already signed for the fight so we’re all waiting for Mayweather.

They can’t go back to it after this, Mayweather must either sign now or leave it and never go back to it - and put up with the fact that his legacy will be forever scarred by his refusal to fight.

But I think negotiations have already taken place for Pacquiao v Khan. I mentioned it before - why was Amir boxing two southpaws? I’ve got a feeling Pacquiao was over here to make those negotiations a little more concrete.

What about boxing's newest promoter Prince Harry? Apparently he wants to put on big fights for charity...

Image: Sports fan Harry has Moore's backing

Jamie says: I’ve heard Prince Harry is trying to get a syndicate together to get Pacquiao to come over and box Khan at Wembley! Listen, if he’s a boxing fan and he wants to make Pacquiao-Khan over here, and he can put the money up to do it, he’s got my blessing.

He’s been in the army, he’ll have mental fortitude to some degree so maybe he could hold his own in the ring! It’s only a bit of technique he’d have to learn.

He’d absolutely be welcome in the boxing community. I want to see Prince Harry on Ringside, let Adam and Johnny grill him!

Fight Night Live, featuring Kevin Mitchell v Daniel Estrada, is on Saturday at 8pm on Sky Sports 1 HD.
