The Royal London One-Day Cup kicks off a spectacular summer of cricket on Sky Sports..

On Thursday, Northamptonshire host holders Warwickshire in the opening game of the 2017 tournament, live on Sky Sports 2 from 12pm.

It's set to be a mouthwatering opener between the two teams who triumphed in the white-ball tournament's of 12 months ago - Northants winning the NatWest T20 Blast.

Warwickshire, though, begin their One-Day Cup title defence in confident mood, having lost only one of their final seven matches on the way to their Lord's success over Surrey last year.

They also boast in their ranks Sam Hain, who was the tournament's leading run-scorer in 2016, with 540 to his name, and Jonathan Trott, who hit at least fifty in five of his last seven innings - including an unbeaten 82 in the final

But, Northants have tasted defeat only once in their last six One-Day Cup home matches against Warwickshire - winning four - and have also started the 2017 summer in better form than their opponents.

Northants have won two of their opening three County Championship Division Two matches, while the reverse is true of Warwickshire, who sit second from bottom in Division One.
