Sunrisers Hyderabad break their own IPL record total with a stunning 287-3 including a century for Travis Head against Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Sunrisers Hyderabad smashed 287-3 to break their own record the highest total in Indian Premier League history against Royal Challengers Bengaluru after Travis Head hit a stunning century.

Last month, Pat Cummins' side amassed 277-3 in a victory against Mumbai Indians which was then the highest total but Travis Head's 102 and Heinrich Klaasen's 66 saw them set another record at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Head smashed nine fours and eight sixes in his 42-ball knock while Klaasen also cleared the ropes seven times and hit two fours.

Head and Abishek Sharma (34) shared an opening stand worth 108 runs before the latter, while Abdul Samad (37no) and Aiden Markram (32no) shared an unbeaten fourth-wicket stand of 56.

Samad hit Reece Topley (1-48) for 24 runs in the penultimate over which included three boundaries and two sixes before Markram guided Vijaykumar Vyshak (0-64) through the covers for a single in the final over to help Sunrisers to their record-breaking total.
