Tash Farrant blog: Southern Vipers set for Kia Super League

Seamer Natasha Farrant blogs on the Southern Vipers' build-up to the inaugural Kia Super League...
So… where do I start…?! The Southern Vipers have been working hard throughout the build-up, which has been topped off with a great couple of weeks training and three successful warm-up games.
Training has been slightly tougher than usual, first of all due to the tropical weather in which Lissy Macleod's fair skin has taken a battering, and secondly due to the sauna of a gym which is nicknamed the 'sweat box'… Not a pretty site.
During the tournament, the majority of the team are staying in flats in the centre of Southampton. Having split the team into two flats, unfortunately I have ended up with the 'oldies,' (not mentioning any names) who are in bed by 9pm and up by 6am (not ok ladies!)
One of the strengths of the Southern Vipers is our team cohesion. Our two Kia Sportage, Vipers 'family wagons' take us everywhere. Charlotte Edwards and Suzie Bates are currently the designated drivers although there may be a shake-up after Lottie got us horrifically lost on the way to our team BBQ.
The BBQ was one of the highlights of the two week build-up, in which Fi Morris pipped us all to the post with her excellent golfing skills. However, the standard of this competition was questionable considering I came in second place playing right handed (I'm a proud lefty.)
With a team meal tonight (I hear chilli con carne is on the menu!) before the big day, we are ready and raring to go for the first game of Kia Super League! If you are near the Southampton region please come down and support! Should be a belter!
Until next time, Faz
