Having been put into bat, England made a superb start with Roy going on the attack from the outset, finding the boundary with great regularity.

He eventually fell for 73 but he good work was continued, firstly by Joe Root (78) and then Ben Stokes - the latter blazing 62 from 40 balls.

It was a great effort from Stokes and he led the way as England blasted 105 from the final eight overs of their innings to post 350-7 in their 50 overs.

It looked a strong total and when they picked up four early wickets, David Willey claiming two of them, India found themselves 63-4.

Kohli and Jadhav counter-attacked though and put the pressure back on England. Both players reached their hundreds, Jadhav taking just 65 balls, and although they were dismissed - Kohli for 122 and Jadhav for 120 - they had effectively won the game for India by then.
