Rwanda Women's cricketer Cathia Uwamahoro has set the Guinness World Record for the longest net session in women's history.
Uwamahoro, cheered on by England Women's captain Heather Knight who was present to support her in her task, batted for 26 hours straight to set the record at the Amahoro stadium in Remera, Rwanda.
Uwamahoro, who is also captain of her country, lost her father when she was just six months old in the 1994 civil war and genocide from which the country is still recovering.
Over a decade later, the 22-year-old has become an outstanding female cricketer and a massive role model for young people in her country, with cricket the fastest growing sport in Rwanda
The record for longest nets session in men's cricket history also belongs to a Rwandan, Eric Dusingizimana, who batted for 51 consecutive hours in 2016.
Cricket was first introduced in Rwanda in 2000 and the country became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2003.
