Slow left-armer Santner, currently top of the ICC's Twenty20 bowling rankings, will be available throughout Derbyshire's Vitality Blast campaign and also for their last seven Specsavers County Championship matches.

The 26-year-old was Worcestershire's leading T20 wicket-taker last season and helped New Zealand reach the semi-finals of the 2016 ICC World T20.

Santner is also a handly middle-order batsman, with 90 international caps across all three formats.
