The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced that its members have voted in favour of chairman Colin Graves remaining in post for an additional six-month period.

The special resolution, which was proposed by the ECB's non-executive directors, was approved by ECB members at Tuesday's annual general meeting (AGM).

The extension will run from May 2020 to November 2020 and will enable Graves to oversee the first season of The Hundred, a major part of the board's five-year strategic plan.

The process for appointing a new chairman will begin in September.

Speaking after the AGM, Graves said: "I would like to thank the ECB members for supporting this change to our Articles of Association.

"I believe they have made a decision that is in the best interests of the game.
