Kamran Akmal has been recalled to the Pakistan squads for the Twenty20 and one-day international series in West Indies after three years in the international wilderness.

Good domestic batting form and a starring role in the latest Pakistan Super League have led to his recall but he will not fill the wicketkeeper-batsman role in the Caribbean as that will go to captain Sarfraz Ahmad in both formats.

Opening batsmen Ahmed Shehzad has been recalled to both squads after a year out of international competition but there is no place for Azhar Ali, who started the year as captain of the ODI squad.

Shehzad had been out of the international picture because of disciplinary issues but his form in the PSL paved the way for a return with Sharjeel Khan suspended over allegations of corruption in the PSL.
