Alviro Petersen charged with fixing by Cricket South Africa

Former Test batsman Alviro Petersen has been charged with breaching Cricket South Africa's anti-corruption rules.

The six counts relating to the 2015 Ram Slam tournament in South Africa include one of "contriving to fix or otherwise improperly influence, or being party to a scheme in which attempts would be made to fix or otherwise improperly influence, a match or matches."

Petersen is also charge with failing to disclose information about illicit approaches and with "seeking to accept, accepting or agreeing to accept a bribe or reward."

The 35-year-old has been provisionally suspended and has 14 days to respond to the charges.

Gulam Bodi, Jean Symes, Pumelela Matshikwe, Ethy Mbhalati and Thami Tsolekile were all banned by CSA earlier this year for their part in attempting to fix Ram Slam games.

Petersen played the last of his 36 Tests in January 2015 and has spent the last two seasons with Lancashire, his fourth English county.
