Only the top 125 players in the FedExCup standings after this week's event at Sedgefield Country Club will be eligible for the season-ending play-offs and will also secure full playing privileges for the 2019-20 season.

Noren starts in 125th spot after positing his best two performances of the year in his last two starts, following a tied-11th finish at The Open with a share of 12th spot at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, while Kaymer sits in 146th and is in danger of losing his card.

The former world No 1's five-year exemption for winning the 2014 US Open comes to an end this season and Kaymer - who finished tied-31st at the Barracuda Championship last week - is likely to need a top-five finish in North Carolina to break into the top-125.

Players between 126th and 150th in the season-long standings only retain conditional status on the PGA Tour, limiting the number of starts they will make next year, although can regain full cards for 2020 by playing in the Korn Ferry Tour - formerly the Web.com Tour - Finals next month.

Other players currently not secured of their playing rights include former Presidents Cup player Daniel Berger (131st) and Ireland's Seamus Power (144th), while Robert Streb is up into 124th after his tied-third finish in Nevada last week.

Two-time PGA Tour winner Harris English (151st) and three-time Ryder Cup player Hunter Mahan (184th) will need their best results of the year to have any chance of making the play-offs, while Zach Johnson (152nd) and Jimmy Walker (155th) are already on major exemptions and have their full cards assured for next year.
