Paul Webber's dual-purpose mare landed a thrilling victory over fences at Ascot on Saturday, having run with great credit when third in a Listed Hurdle at Wetherby on her seasonal reappearance.
The nine-year-old had a verdict over Champion Court to her name last season, and Webber is hoping the plethora of options for other smart chasers over the coming weeks might increase her claims at Huntingdon.
"Alasi is simply a wonderful mare," said the Banbury handler.
"Two miles is sharp enough for her these days. She's going to the breeding shed in the spring so we're into bonus time with her - she had a good look at the statue of Yeats at Ascot and seemed to be eyeing him up!
"We'll aim towards the Peterborough with her now. It tends to be a small field as you have the Tingle Creek a week before and then there's Cheltenham the week after.
"I'm sure some superstar will probably show up to ruin our plan, but that's where we'll probably go as she's better going right-handed over fences."
