Saracens Mavericks kept up the heat on closest rivals Wasps Netball by moving joint-top of the Vitality Netball Superleague on Saturday.

With Wasps Netball not in action against Severn Stars until Sunday, Mavs took full advantage by thrashing Strathclyde Sirens 68-38.

Their road trip to Edinburgh saw them secure a fourth win in a row as Kadeen Corbin, Sasha Corbin and Georgina Fisher all played their part in a professional performance.

Mavs enjoyed a 21-goal lead by the end of the third quarter and Kat Ratnapala's in-form side stretched it to 30 by the end of the game to move top with 21 points after nine games.

Thunder also kept pace thanks to a 66-42 win against Surrey Storm at Belle Vue with a dominant performance in the second and third quarters.

An injury for Storm's Mikki Austin in the last minute of the first quarter was a blow to the visitors, while the Black and Yellows kept up a high tempo notching an impressive 20 goals in the third quarter.

They were able to consolidate their lead through signature long-bombs from Kathryn Turner and equally impressive shots from Ellie Cardwell while Joyce Mvula received Player of the Match for her imposing performance under the post.
