Atlanta Falcons sign Alex Gray on two-year reserve futures contract extension

Atlanta Falcons have signed former rugby union player Alex Gray to a two-year reserve futures contract.
The 27-year-old signed his first deal with the team in January 2018 and his new contract will see him stay with the franchise through the 2020 season.
Taking to his Twitter account, Gray wrote: "Excited to have signed another two years with the Atlanta Falcons.
"I have learned so much about myself, both as a person and a competitor in 2018. Roll on 2019!"
Gray previously played club rugby for Newcastle Falcons and London Irish but decided to switch sports to the NFL to become a tight-end in 2017.
He moved to Atlanta as part the league's International Player Pathway programme and became the first English professional rugby player to do so.
Since then he has been a member of the Falcons' practice squad and captained the team in pre-season in August last year.
A futures contract is an agreement that a player will be under contract with a team once the new league year begins.
