Chicago Bears' Cody Parkey missed a crucial 43-yard field goal in the dying seconds as he hit the upright and crossbar meaning his side lost to Philadelphia Eagles.

It's the play that is being called 'the double doink', as kicker Cody Parkey hit the upright and the crossbar with his failed game-winning field goal attempt for the Chicago Bears.

Click on the video above to watch Parkey's agonising miss as the Bears were beaten 16-15 by the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night and knocked out of the playoffs.

Incredibly, Parkey has previous for hitting the post too. This is the sixth occasion this season a kick of his has hit the upright, doing so a staggering four times in Week 10 against the Detroit Lions and then again in Week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Here, with Chicago trailing by just one point with 10 seconds remaining, Parkey's 43-yard effort hit the left upright, bouncing down onto the crossbar and then out to break the hearts of Bears fans.
