Royal Ascot hero Undrafted is likely to sidestep next month's Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock.

Wesley Ward's American challenger claimed a thrilling Diamond Jubilee Stakes under Frankie Dettori in June and is second in ante-post lists for another Group One prize on Merseyside on September 5.

However, Ward already has one eye on the Breeders' Cup and feels another trip to Britain could be detrimental to his chances at Keeneland in November.

"We're thinking of it (Sprint Cup), but looking at the rest of the year, with the Breeders' Cup here in Keeneland this year, we might prefer to keep him at home," said the trainer.

"He is not the greatest of shippers (travellers). He can ship and then run his race, but then he seems to fall apart a little and it takes time to put him back together.

"If we took him to Haydock, we might be short on time to get him back for the Breeders' Cup, so it's probably more likely than not we'll stay here.

"There's a race he could run in just down the road at Kentucky Downs, a prep race for the Breeders' Cup, so that might be his target."
