A review of the action from Windsor on Tuesday, with John Gosden's well-bred filly So Mi Dar taking top honours.

The beautifully-bred So Mi Dar made the perfect start to her career in the Breeders Backing Racing EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Windsor.

A daughter of leading stallion Dubawi, the two-year-old is out of brilliant racemare Dar Re Mi, who won three Group Ones for trainer John Gosden and owner-breeders Lord and Lady Lloyd Webber before her retirement five years ago.

Dar Re Mi has already produced French winner De Treville, a son of Oasis Dream, while her unnamed Frankel colt was knocked down for 750,000gns to Gosden on behalf of Al Shaqab Racing at Tattersalls earlier this month.

So Mi Dar was a 6/1 shot for her introduction and after tracking Ralph Beckett-trained favourite Golden Stunner, jockey Robert Havlin coaxed the Gosden runner to the front, pushing her out hands and heels to score by a neck.

"She had a nice draw and hit the gates quick," said Havlin.

"I found myself behind Mr Beckett's horse, which is exactly where I wanted to be. She just did me for a bit of toe up the straight, but she kept at it well.

"She found her feet towards the end."

Delighted Lady Lloyd Webber added: "You couldn't ask for any more from a two-year-old filly first time out.

"She was a little bit green and suddenly got the message and found that extra gear, which is what you want to see.

"Her mother was pretty special. She's bred a wining colt in France already and this is her first filly."

So Mi Dar's victory was the second of the day for the Gosden-Havlin combination, having earlier landed the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Maiden Stakes with 7/2 chance Exist.

The Gary Moore-trained Art Collection was a surprise winner of the War Of The Worlds Fireworks Nursery under Fergus Sweeney.

Fitted with blinkers for the first time following a disappointing run of form since winning at Brighton in May, the 25/1 shot knuckled down well to beat Broughtons Fancy by a length.

"He was unlucky first time and then ran well at Brighton," Moore told At The Races.

"I lost him a little bit, he was probably going through a growing spurt, but he put it right today."

The first division of the Windsor Handicap went to Anonymous John (2/1 favourite) for trainer Dave Evans and jockey Adam Kirby.

Evans said: "He deserved to win. The handicapper put him up and he's back to a winning mark now.

"He's tough and will probably have another run before the grass (season) finishes and we'll keep him going over the winter."

Paul D'Arcy's 9/2 chance Spring Loaded kept up a good run of form by landing the second division under Sean Levey.

The trainer's wife, Sue, said: "He had a break in the summer as he did a muscle in his back and it took him a long time to get over it. Just as he was coming back, he fell over and damaged his knee.

"He did nothing wrong at Ascot when he was second a couple of runs ago and it's nice to get a first win on turf with him.

"He has had some quick runs, but he's been bouncing at home so we knew he was very well.

"He's going to have an all-weather campaign and he's a nice, improving young horse."

Veteran sprinter Captain Scooby was a 16/1 winner of the War Of The Worlds #pushthebutton Handicap.

Making his 150th competitive start, Richard Guest's charge came home well under Joey Haynes to clinch a 13th career victory.

Apprentice Hector Crouch had to be attended to after suffering a heavy fall from Foxford in the same race, but later got to his feet.

Michael Bell's Instant Karma (6/1) bolted up in the Royal Windsor Racecourse Christmas Live Party Handicap, ridden by Willie Twiston-Davies, while the Mick Quinn-trained World Record (5/1) and William Carson dominated from the front in concluding Download The Unibet Racing App Handicap.
