Verdict
This was run as a 0-135 last year but Clan Legend came out on top and Nick Alexander’s veteran has run perfectly respectably off higher marks since, including at Ayr last month. Palmers Hill made a winning reappearance at Wetherby but Midnightreferendum has been struggling to get her head back in front and has been racing over longer trips this year, though she did finish ahead of recent Ascot winner Pink Legend on worse terms at Warwick in February. No Getaway has been lightly raced but Reserve Tank was beaten when falling at Stratford in October and has become disappointing. Annual Invictus is improving at a rate of knots, however, though is conceding 10lb to GALAHAD QUEST. Nick Williams’ five-year-old followed up a third behind subsequent Rehearsal Chase runner-up Good Boy Bobby at Wetherby with a staying-on fifth in the Paddy Power Gold Cup and looks to be on an upward curve.
