Verdict
Dual winner Euro Leader sets the benchmark here and has to be considered along with Quid Pro Quo, Bobby Dazzler, Salhood, Billyvoddan, Super tip and Some Judge, but we'll side with Quid Pro Quo. Running through the field. The Willie Mullins-trained Euro Leader will not have been sent across the Irish Sea for the sake of a holiday in the resurgent city of Liverpool. The caveat about his chance is that he has travelled badly before. However, casting that aside, he looks a useful recruit to the sport. The well-bred Salhood won well at Chepstow last time but the form of Winsley's win took a knock during the week with the runner-up being well beaten in a bumper. We'll find out more about him today. The well-bred Accordion gelding, Billyvoddan, Bobby Dazzler, and the interesting French-bred Quid Pro Quo are all interesting from their respective stables. L'Oiseau is well regarded by his canny trainer but let himself down with a poor run last time, while Reverse Place showed decent promise in a couple of bumpers before succumbing to injury. Mount Clerigo and Rosetown are others with likeable breeding; Pottsy's Joy has to be respected from the Sue Smith stable and Sobraon form Nicky Richards yard. Jonjo O'Neill's Some Judge - not just a statement of fact but the horse's name also - showed a lot of promise in two Irish bumper runs and, if fully fit following an injury-induced lay-off, can go well. Watch the market for clues. Super Tip showed promise on his debut at Sandown and is entitled to improve, while Mary Reveley's Supreme's Legacy is yet another representative of the leading stallion Supreme Leader. It's a smashing race, one in which the betting will provide clues but, without knowledge of what that is going to tell us, we'll opt for Quid Pro Quo.
