In depth

Verdict

Cape Blanco won the 2011 renewal for Ballydoyle and Magician won the Breeders' Cup Turf over 1m4f at Santa Anita last year. But the latter is becoming hard to predict with a poor effort at Ascot last time, though is still preferred to Andrew Balding's Side Glance. Real Solution arrives in fine form in a bid to repeat last year's success and Up With The Birds has improved with every start this season but French raider SMOKING SUN makes most appeal. A repeat of his second in the Group 1 Internatioal at Kranji in May should see Pascal Bary's charge go very close and he gets the vote.
