      In depth

      Verdict

Escobar often runs well but the long losing run continues. Ascension could be interesting dropped in trip after a break while River Nymph has been keeping better company since winning the Victoria Cup over course and distance in the spring. It might be significant that Adam Kirby rides him rather than the progressive three-year-old Aratus. Al Rufaa is preferred to Fundamental of the Gosdens’ two runners with the in-form Oo De Lally preferred to stablemate Symbolize. ALDAARY (NAP) hasn’t done a lot wrong this season so it’s a surprise that the handicapper has dropped him a further pound. With rain forecast, he could be very well treated as he remains relatively unexposed. Fresh gets weight all round but goes beyond 6f for the first time.
