In depth

Verdict

Connections of Wee Jean will be hoping that their in-form mare gets a run in this as she still looks well treated. Directorship arrives off the back of a recent win over an in-form rival at Newmarket so goes on the short-list, as does Halation who ran well for fourth behind Basem at Sandown. He's a hard-puller, however, and is drawn wide. Stall one has produced the winner of this in two of the last three years and ALFRED HUTCHINSON has the prized box today. He likes to race up with the pace so is perfectly placed and should give Sammy Jo Bell a good ride. Geoff Oldroyd's charge is preferred to the returning Earth Drummer while this may be on the sharp side for Master The World.
