Verdict

It'll be some surprise if DR GREEN is beaten here as he's the confident pick; the rest are hard to separate, with Twist Of Silver just preferred to Falkland Flyer for those aiming for the forecast. Richard Hannon's charge might've been labelled disappointing prior to winning at Windsor, having twice previously been a beaten favourite. However, a closer look at the races he's run in shows that the colt has done little wrong, he's simply bumped into some smart rivals. Nothing advertises that better than his Goodwood effort, where he finished behind a subsequent conditions winner and amongst several who've franked the form. After a demolition job last time, winning by eight lengths, he's taken to show that he's a smart performer in his own right. Twist Of Silver is evidently held in some regard and ran a fair race in the Albany at Royal Ascot. However, she's basically been well beaten since landing her maiden and in truth hasn't achieved a great deal, so improvement is needed if she's to win. Similarly 77-rated Falkland Flyer is becoming exposed as nothing exceptional, although this colt has met some decent types and can benefit for taking a slight drop in distance. Straight Line has been behind plenty of Richard Hannon's already and needs dropping in grade if he's to score and is held by Slim Shadey on their latest running, although neither should figure. Dr Green's stablemate Custom House needs a market check but Patrick Hills has a poor record (0/56 past five seasons) when riding juveniles from the yard suggesting this one is no better than average, however his compatriot Dr Green is and gets the vote.
