Verdict
MAGIC CITY was third in last week's Betfred Mile at Goodwood and is only a couple of pounds higher. He's probably best at the Sussex track but has also won at Epsom and Newbury and looks a good ride for Tom Queally. Richard Hughes normally partners the selection but has been drawn to take the ride here on Richard Fahey's Ingleby Angel. His latest second at Ayr puts him on the picture, though he was behind Navajo Chief at York in May. The latter disappointed next time on the Knavesmire, however, and more interesting is Dark Emerald who ran a back-to-form Heavy Metal to half-a-length at Haydock after winning at Newmarket. Don't Call Me hinted at a revival here last time and is another to consider, though he's closely matched with Hit The Jackpot. Tenor could struggle to win on Turf off his current mark.
