In depth

Verdict

Berrahri will likely be a big price but he didn’t run at all badly at Sandown two runs ago before again finding 2m too far at Kempton. John Best’s veteran has slipped down the ratings and should be out of trouble on the front end. Apparate is among the least exposed but both victories have come on fast ground so further rain would be a concern. Emenem won off a higher mark at Newbury last year but wasn’t showing much on the all-weather at the start of the year so we’ll take a chance on the fitness of BAASEM. A winner twice last summer, Owen Burrows’ gelding gives the impression he’ll stay this longer trip. Platitude has plenty of stamina but it’s a long time since he got his head in front, though he shouldn’t be far away. Mancini has also claims if the cheekpieces have the desired effect but Good Tidings has become disappointing.
