Verdict

Australian sprinters have won four of the last ten renewals of this and Grade 1 winner Star Witness will be a warm order, even though his best form appears to be at 6f. War Artist, a regular winner in Dubai and runner-up to the briliant J J The Jet Plane there in March, finished second to Kingsgate Native in this way back in 2008 and was a close sixth last year. Sole Power, shock winner of the Nunthorpe at York in August, had few problems beating Kingsgate Native in the Group 2 Temple Stakes at Haydock where the prolific Overdose, who started favourite, was only seventh. US raider Bridgetown finished a close fourth in the Breeders' Cup Sprint at Churchill Downs and was only just touched off there in a Grade 3 last month while compatriot Holiday For Kitten gets all the allowances though she's yet to tackle this sort of class. Hong Kong has several tremendous sprinters including their champion Sacred Kingdom but he was beaten by SWEET SANETTE at Sha Tin last time so the six-year-old, with Jamie Spencer on board, gets the vote in a fascinating contest though connections will be hoping the ground dries out.
