In depth
Verdict
Uruguayan 1,000 Guineas winner Florista Gg is hard to weigh up on her British debut so may be best watched and preference is for Apex, who is marginally preferred to Pentecost. The last mentioned is more than capable of taking a hand in the finish here and has slipped to a fair mark but Andrew Balding's gelding has given little cause for optimism of late so may be best watched. River Tiber has been highly tried of late and may do better having been given a break since his most recent start in Ireland. Cape of Luck ran better at Folkestone last month and has to be respected on that evidence but is inconsistent, while Waterside is better on the all-weather than on turf. The vote then goes to Apex, who has been in the form of his life over the last couple of months and can be forgiven his latest disappointing effort as that came following a break.
