The winner of this contest has proved tough to select in the last number of years and Joanna Morgan's JAWAD, who gets in here off his Irish mark, is a tentative selection. With this specialist trip not a concern and with the selection having a turn of foot and relishing fast surfaces, he has the necessary attributes to land a race of this nature. Chester Cup runner-up Som Tala is another for any shortlist as is the unexposed Bukit Tinggi, for whom reservations would exist where stamina is concerned. Liberate is one with no stamina worries and the Spencer/Hobbs combination are always to be feared when teaming up. Mamlook, formerly trained in Ireland by Kevin Prendergast, was a winner here over obstacles in April and a mark of 83 could well prove lenient. As ever this Ascot Stakes is wide open and Jawad is nominated to land it for Mick Kinane and Joanna Morgan.
