Verdict

This race was immediately earmarked after Newfangled won by more than four lengths on her debut at Newmarket. She handled the soft ground that day so recent rain won't be a problem and John Gosden's filly has to go on the short-list. Agent Allison will have gone into a few notebooks after winning by seven lengths on her introduction at Pontefract while Sendmylovetorose looked useful when scoring on soft going at Navan. Light Up My Life, Kosika, Run Fat Lass Run and Sandreamer were other first-time winners but Richard Hughes has chosen Tassel, who clearly didn't give her true running behind Judy In Disguise at Salisbury last time, ahead of the former and Equitania, second to Premier Steps over 5f here last month. AMAZONAS ran green on her debut in a novice stakes at Yarmouth but showed a fine turn of foot to settle the issue when asked and should be capable of a lot more. She could be the value in a tricky opener under Johnny Murtagh.
