A cracking sprint to get proceedings under way can go to Buachaill Dona over Al Qasi, Burning Incense and Come Out Fighting to name but a few. Buachaill Dona is turning into a real star for Dandy Nicholls, having won three of his last four starts, and indeed would probably still be unbeaten had he not met bad interference at Goodwood the time before last. He then gained revenge over Terentia when battling home in the rain-softened ground at York last month, defying a 5lb rise in the process, and looks good for another few pounds improvement at least. The step back up to six furlongs will not hinder the son of Namid one bit, and he can come late to steal the spoils. Al Qasi has a similar profile, but has not beaten the same level of opponent, while Burning Incense did not gain compensation for being denied a run in the Ayr Gold Cup when turning out the day before, and although he could easily take a hand, is passed over. Come Out Fighting is probably what Paul Blockley felt like doing when Wait Watcher was demoted from her big pay day in Ireland on Tuesday, and his course-and-distance winner is worth a mention as well. However, for the winner we return to Buachaill Dona.
