In depth

Verdict

A competitive handicap where the TEAMtalk vote goes to Just Jasmine. The mare had been unlucky to come up with a string of placed efforts in very good company, but without getting her nose in front until a week ago at Cheltenham, when she throughly deserved her six length success from Lady Cricket. Even though she gets a 5lb penalty for that win, she jumps well, can stay on from the sort of strong pace that we will see here, loves the ground, and can win again here. If anything is to get past her then Logician could be the one. A classy travellers in his races, Ian Balding's gelding jumps particularly well, and that is certainly needed over these stiff fences. Tony McCoy is likely to sit just off the pace and he should be involved in the finish. Get Real loves it around here and it wouldn't really be any surprise if he scored again with the yard in such good form, though he is getting a bit long in the tooth now, while Redemption clearly possesses ability but does still look just a little exposed. Ei Ei seem sot reserve his best for smaller tracks while Shamawan is clearly in with a chance with a featherweight, but his jumping is not the type to fill punters with confidence over a tough track and in a race such as this.
