Halicarnassus has done everything asked of him so far and Mick Channon's colt strictly holds Admiralofthefleet on running in the Superlative Stakes last time but a 3lb pull and an extra furlong may see the son of Danehill reverse that form and Aidan O'Brien's colt is taken to reverse Newmarket form with the main danger looking to be Gold Option. The last mentioned has progressed with each start and John Gosden has his string running into form at this time of year again so there could well be more to come from the son of Observatory. Champlain was well held in the Superlative last time and is difficult to recommend on that evidence so of more interest may be Abide With Me. A stablemate of the selection, he has to be respected but needs to improve on all known form to trouble Admiralofthefleet, who gets the vote.
