    In depth

Useful novices lock horns and Danandy would be interesting if ready for this first race since March although there is a concern about current stable form. Chiberta King should have learnt plenty from his hurdling debut but it seems sensible to stick to those with fitness assured and recent winning form in the book. Dursey Sound gives weight away all round but does look a useful sort in the making, although this looks tougher than when scoring at Uttoxeter and Wetherby, whilst Bucking The Trend created a good impression with a smooth debut success over hurdles at Stratford and has trip and ground to suit. It's tempting to go along with the latter but EASTER DAY looked one to follow when clearing away with plenty to spare at Fontwell when accounting for Milarrow. He seems sure to appreciate the longer trip here, appears progressive and is narrowly preferred to the Tim Vaughan inmate.

Dursey Sound (IRE) 5-6fav (11-5) Mid-division on inside, steady headway after 4 out, challenged next, led last, driven out flat, won at Wetherby 2m 4f nh nov hdl (4) gs in Oct beating Fourjacks (10-12) by 1 1/4l, 10 ran.

Bucking The Trend 7-1 (11-0) Held up in touch on inner, headway to chase leaders before 3 out, led 2 out, stayed on strongly from last, won at Stratford 2m 6f mdn hdl (4) sft beating Whisky Yankee (11-0) by 4 1/2l, 9 ran.

Easter Day (FR) 9-4 (10-12) Chased leaders, driven to challenge 2 out, led last, ran on well, won at Fontwell 2m 2f nh nov hdl (4) sft in Oct beating Milarrow (11-2) by 12l, 6 ran.

Western King (IRE) 7-2 (10-12) Tracked leaders, joined leader 4th, led 6th, ridden and headed 2 out, kept on one pace, 3rd of 11, 11l behind Kaysersberg (10-9) at Kempton 2m 5f nov hdl (4) gs.

Chiberta King 7-1 (10-12) Jumped left and keen, chased leader until after 2nd, went 2nd again after 5th, challenged next, every chance when went left and mistake 3 out, soon beaten, last of 6, 33l behind My Tent Or Yours (10-12) at Ascot 2m nh nov hdl (3) gs.

Danandy (IRE) 8-13fav (11-3) Chased leaders, led 3rd, headed 3 out and ridden, weakened to 4th when badly hampered 2 out, weakened and eased, tailed off, not recover, 5th of 9, well behind Heavenstown (11-3) at Fontwell 2m 6f nh nov hdl (4) sft in Mar.
