Verdict
See You Sometime is a speculative selection with Oodachee and Ollie Magern the others for the shortlist. See You Sometime is a difficult horse to catch right but he handles fast ground well enough and was perhaps unfortunate to meet a better-handicapped rival when succumbing to Harry's Dream last time out. A sound jumper, he can make fitness tell. Irish raiders are always to be feared and Oodachee is respected off his feather-weight. Proven on a softer surface, this is something of a leap in the dark but he is unexposed in this company and should not be dismissed out of hand. Ollie Magern lost his way badly this term. The excuses have worn thin and any fancy for him has to be motivated by the form of the Nigel Twiston-Davies' yard. Sweet Diversion has been found wanting in big handicaps but needs fast ground and it would be no surprise to see a big race here. Nil Desperandum makes his first run for Venetia Williams having left Frances Crowley in Ireland. The ground could be his undoing on reappearance. Bold jumping Ballycassidy can be expected to be towards the head of matters while Bewleys Berry is watched in the market for any signs of confidence. Royal Auclair has been crucified by the handicapper and is likely to need this run. A good race in prospect and See You Sometime gets the nod.
