In depth

Verdict

Forest Leaves gets the narrow vote in this handicap chase with Supreme Catch and Eljay's Boy also on the shortlist. The selection fell at the final fence at Fairyhouse when last seen out in a race that he looked like winning. He had previously put in a couple of solid efforts in defeat and he looks the type who could have a decent future over fences. This faster ground should suit him and if he proves as effective over this shorter trip then he should take all the beating. Supreme Catch chased home Petitjean at Wincanton last time out but that form has since been let down and for that reason we are happy to take Henrietta Knight's 10-year-old on today. Eljay's Boy is chasing the hat-trick and there is no doubt that he again has his ideal ground. He is also fully effective over this trip so he is respected. Sky Warrior would have claims on his best form but Evan Williams' string are hardly firing on all cylinders at present so he may be best watched. He's The Gaffer won well last time but he could be vulnerable under his penalty today and we are happy to stick with Forest Leaves who has solid form in Ireland and he can get his head in front today.
