In depth

Verdict

Marmooq, Dream Rose and Ocean Sunrise are three to focus on in this maiden and the vote is given to Marmooq. The selection was a little disappointing in a handicap at Newcastle last time but this colt had previously gone close in this grade when finishing second behind Baskerville. A reproduction on that effort should be suffice here and as the ground should not be a problem he is taken to get his head in front. Dream Rose is another eased in grade but she has been disappointing on each of her last two starts and she looks to have plenty to prove at present. Ocean Sunrise will be suited by the ground but she put in a below-par effort last time and she tackles this trip for the first time. Pab Special is from a yard in flying form so is another to consider, but for the winner we will stick with Marmooq.
