In depth

Verdict

A wide open handicap rounds off the card with many in form rivals in opposition including The Masareti Kid, Tobesure and Pornic and we will side with the last named. The nine year old was a good second behind Mr Laggan last time. He is well weighted on his best form of last season and with the soft ground in his favour he is taken to score with the useful Declan Mcgann taking off a handy seven pounds. The Masareti Kid rates the main danger he was a fair third behind Lettias Loss last time but he gave the impression the handicapper had caught up with him so he is opposed. Tobesure has been in fair form of late over fences but he looks to be on a high enough mark for his switch back to hurdles and although he travels well in his races he finds little off the bridle. Sports Express was a fair fourth behind Researcher last time and is sure to have come on for the run and with Tom Greenhall taking off seven pounds he could go well at a big price. Of the remainder Mr Christie is well in on his best form and if it turned into a real slog he could go well. But in a race where stakes should be kept to a minimum we will side with Pornic.
