Nevada Red can give weight and a beating to Lethem Present, with Cash Bonanza and Almire du Lia best of the remainder. Despite having to shoulder a 7lb penalty today, Nevada Red appears to be progressive enough to shrug off the burden judged on his recent exploits. Donald McCain's six-year-old came good over fences at Sedgefield last month, galloping his rivals into the heavy ground, and although the handicapper has been alerted, he looks capable of adding to his tally in this company. The main threat should emerge in the shape of Lethem Present who valiantly tried to give a stone to eventual winner Wensley Blue when caught close home at Kelso last time. He has a few pounds to find with the selection on latest evidence, but it will be interesting if they decide to take each other on. Cash Bonanza gave a poor account at Kelso and is best watched, while Almire du Lia is only just starting to return to form, and is another that cannot be relied on at present. All in all, Nevada Red is the percentage call.
