In depth

Verdict

Lady Benjamin is the pick over the likes of Carrickmacross, Angle Of Attack and On Instinct to name but a few. We have another big field to contend with here, so only a small vote goes the way of Lady Benjamin who has at least been consistent so far. Pat Haslam's filly has only been out of the frame twice in eight starts, including when being hampered in a Newmarket nursery in August. A creditable second to Nezami at Hamilton last time, she is selected to get back to winning ways. Carrickmacross came good at Lingfield last month, and on breeding should have no problem with the softer ground, while Angle Of Attack is still a maiden but is getting the hang of things now. On Instinct makes her nursery bow and will no doubt be placed to good effect in time, and of the remainder, Willyn does not appear too badly treated. However, in an open affair, the pin comes down on Lady Benjamin.
