In depth

Verdict

Another dual-pronged attack by the Mark Johnston team but this is an occasion where there is a strong preference in the shape of LIGHT ROSE. She was a good third at Newbury on only her third career start last month, the form of that contest being franked during the week by the Yarmouth success of the runner-up. The selection was having her first run for over 80 days after something had clearly gone wrong when tailed-off at Lingfield and she looks likely to appreciate this drop in trip. Osteopathic Remedy has no secrets from the handicapper but still runs his race and was a close-up fourth at Ripon last time. Connor Beasley claims a valuable 7lb on the top weight, while Able Master has ability but there is a question mark over this increase in trip.
