In depth
Verdict
Aleatricis only just obliged when successful at Hamilton at the beginning of the month but the first two finished clear of the remainder and, with Sir Mark Prescott's stable in flying form, she is taken to defy the 7lb rise in the weights, getting the verdict ahead of Willyn and Nayarna. The last mentioned is less exposed than most of these after just five starts and Richard Fahey's filly has been given a chance by the handicapper. Phantom Serenade has had the three runs necessary for a handicap mark but he does not look that well treated for his debut in the grade, while Peter Monteith's Endeavor similarly looks plenty high enough in the weights for what he has achieved. Jim Goldie's Willyn has run creditably of late and should again be thereabouts but Aleatricis has plenty going for her and she is preferred.
